PROMOTING USING CLICKBANK

When you promote, you are simply referring (or pointing) someone to a product they might find interesting or valuable to them. You effectively send them to the seller’s sales page. Subsequently if that person decides to buy, then you receive a commission for that sale and any other referrals that you make.

Commissions can vary from 50% – 75% so you can see that you can potentially make quite a lot of money here with absolutely no product of your own, in fact you are not actually even selling anything. The seller will provide the sales page and take care of taking the payment and even provide support for the product if needed. This begins to look attractive don’t you think?

If the customer you have sent to the sales page then subsequently buys the product then you will simply be credited with the commission for that sale.

OK, so you are going to need products to promote; where do you get them from? Well one place is Clickbank. Go to the Clickbank signup page (Click Here) where you can create your account as an affiliate for free. You will be asked to create a nickname which is what Clickbank will use to track you commissions. It is your Nickname that you will embed in your link when you refer someone to a product. Be absolutely sure to make a note of this because if you do not use it you will not get paid

When people do buy products that you have sent them to you will receive your commissions directly from Clickbank via a check which will be sent out every two weeks.

Once you have your account created you can then go to the Clickbank marketplace which is a link at the top of the page. It is here that you can search for products to promote. Clickbank does provide you with some statistics to help you decide what you want to promote. The key ones to watch for are:

• $/sale – This means how much you can expect to earn from each sale.
• $/Referred – This means what percentage of all sales came from affiliates.

Try and choose a product that pays a reasonable commission, at least $20 or more.
With regard to Referred – this is more of a judgement call. If the % is very low then the product is either not selling or there are not very many affiliate promoting it.
If it is very high then you have probably found a very popular product that is selling like crazy which means you will have a lot of competition.

Gravity is another statistic that may help you here. This is produced by Clickbank to indicate how popular a product is based on sales and the number of affiliates that are promoting it. Generally speaking, the higher the number the more affiliates are promoting it.

When you have decided on the product you wish to promote then just click on the hoplink and Clickbank will provide you with the exact link you need to use.

So now what? Well now all you have to do is send traffic to the sales page making sure that you link contains your Nickname. Is that all I hear you say. As you may or may not know, getting traffic is a massive subject in its own right. However you could start off by having your own Blog and recommending it there. You could also write some articles and recommend it there.

We will cover other ways of generating traffic in future articles.

Take care
